This document provides you with ideas about how Graphic Design can make your business thrive. Every company can use creative services, but not everyone understands how or why. Please take a moment to review the information below to see what opportunities exist to help get your new business off the ground!

Here are some of the opportunities for you to make the grade with your customers:

Business Collateral [ top ]

Business collateral refers to all of the tangible tools you use in your business relations. From letterhead and envelopes to brochures and annual reports, your business collateral is often your first method of communication with customers, and should be properly engaging and representative of your company's ideals.

Branding
"A brand is the total experience gained from the behaviour and relationship someone has with [your] organization, product or service." [1] While branding is conceptual in nature, defining your company's brand strategy is a very detailed process used to determine the best way to position your company above your competitors. It also involves establishing your brand personality, which is generally a set of rules that govern how your company should consistently look and feel to your customers, including color schemes, taglines, logos, all to be applied to the various elements in your business collateral (letterhead, business cards, etc). Meticulous can help you establish your company's branding and help you position yourself above your competitors.

Letterhead/Stationery
Your letterhead is used to communicate with customers, other businesses, and even colleagues. Because letterhead is used so frequently, and often used to present a personal voice of your company, your letterhead should represent your company in a professional and engaging manner.

Business Cards
Business cards are the most inexpensive form of marketing you can buy, but the same design care and considerations are necessary to make sure your cards are effective. If you took all the business cards people have given you in the past year and spread them out in front of you, how many of those would stand out to you? Most of the times, not many! Why is this? It's because a lot of companies don't think about the role their business card plays in the overall strategy of the company. You'll probably give out more business cards than any other collateral - Meticulous will help to make sure your business cards are not only compelling, but also coveted!

Annual Reports
If your company issues annual reports, you are already fully aware of how important it is to present your financial details in a professional and reputable manner. After all, the contents within these annual reports could directly affect how investors, financial leaders, and business colleagues view your company. Whether you want to trumpet tremendous success, or downplay a substantial loss, Meticulous Design Group can help you communicate your financial data.

Invoices and Forms
The art of invoicing someone is two-fold. Obviously, the purpose of invoices are to get someone to pay you money! But it's also another opportunity for you to touch your customer one more time. If your business doesn't lend itself to return customers, this is most likely your final form of contact with a customer, so it's important for them to walk away with a positive experience. Organizing invoices into clear and concise documents will make your customers feel relieved. (Think about your regular or cell phone bill. There's often times 10 pages of nonsense!) Whether you are invoicing clients or need a set of forms to use in-house, Meticulous can help you make sure the documents you use are productive, attractive, and leave the end-user with a positive experience.

Brochures
Brochures allow you an excellent opportunity to promote your product or services. A step up from business cards in terms of what you can communicate, brochures are a great way to promote your business without the time investment that sending personal letters often requires. Whether creating a set of brochures for people to pick up on their own volition, or as a part of an orchestrated marketing plan to be sent out to potential customers, brochures give you a tremendous amount of flexibility in conveying your message.

Newsletters
One way to remain in contact with your customers is by distributing occasional newsletters, informing them of upcoming changes, product specials, or even industry news you think should be important to them. Helping to make your newsletters engaging and attractive is something Meticulous would love to discuss with you.

Interactive & New Media [ top ]

Interactive communication is one of the most common ways to interact with your audience. Whether a basic information website, or a full-scale e-commerce presence, people are looking to the web for their research. Do you have the infrastructure in place to connect to your customers?

Website
It's simply unheard of to be in business these days without a website. Some people think they only need websites if they are selling products online. That's not the case. With the number of homes with internet connections eclipsing the number of homes with cable TV, the Internet has proven to be the most popular form of research and information gathering. The Internet is the phone book of the new millennium, and if you're not online, you're essentially hiding from your potential customers. Meticulous has been building websites for many years, and we possess the tools to get you online and communicating.

E-Commerce
Not only has e-commerce (the art of selling goods online) become more common, it has become tremendously easy. Anyone can put up a shop online and sell goods these days. Does that mean everybody does it correctly? Of course not! Our experience working with Fortune 100 retailers has given us insight that we now translate into e-commerce success for smaller companies.

Usability Consultation
Have you ever gotten a hot new gadget for your birthday and been so excited that you never read the instruction manual? Instead, you just started playing with it because you thought you knew exactly how to use it, right? I bet 2 months passed by and suddenly you found a great new feature that you hadn't noticed before. Of course the gadget's manual tells you about this new feature, but hey - life's short! Why spend all that time reading manuals, right?

You're not alone. People don't read manuals for the same reason they get frustrated with websites: they don't want to spend a lot of time with what they don't need - they just want the info! Every time a person visits a new website, he has to figure out how to use that website. And since we know he's not going to read manuals, do you think he's going to spend copious amounts of time trying to figure out some unintelligible site navigation? Of course not! He's going to leave your site and go elsewhere because he doesn't have time to waste!

If you already have a website, you owe it to your business to obtain usability consultation to make sure your visitors can use your site effectively. We have spent a lot of time over the years helping companies make their content accessible to the most people possible.

Direct-Email Marketing & Newsletters Opt-in email has become one of the most popular (and intelligent) ways for companies to maintain relationships for their customers. Any business expert will tell you that the cost of customer acquisition is much higher than the cost of customer retention. So how do you keep your customers coming back for more? Easy: create an environment that fosters frequent communication. It's relatively inexpensive to keep people up to date with news about your company, or to notify them about special product or service offers. Meticulous has a great deal of experience managing direct-email campaigns, and we'd love to talk to you about reaching out to your customers.

Banner Advertising
One way to create interest in your company online is through banner advertising. Having created thousands of banner ads for some of the most premiere online advertisers (we're confident you've seen some of them), we know how to create compelling ads to spur action.

Advertising Design [ top ]

Like a fine meal's garnishing, you'll find that quality graphic design is an important ingredient that can make the presentation of your company more dynamic, more compelling, and more attractive to potential customers. You can use quality creative services in almost every aspect of your business, and as a full-scale graphic design firm, Meticulous Design Group will help your projects look great. Here are a few other uses for creative services.

Print Design
Anything that needs to be printed and sent out can benefit from graphic design services. Whether you need to print up some posters for a trade show, to create a brochure for a new project, or want to unify the way your in-house business paperwork looks, taking advantage of creative services to help your materials look better is essential to your projects.

Advertisements
Whether you are placing a small ad in the newspaper, or taking out a full-page glossy spread in a magazine or trade journal, your advertisements need to stand out from the rest.

Packaging
Whether your business is product or service-based, package design solutions exist for you. The obvious need for product-based businesses involve the design of your line of products. Quality design will compel your customers to pick up your product in the store. For service-based businesses, you can use packaging design for almost anything you send out: need a unique way to send out a portfolio on CD? We'll help you design the packaging for it.

3D
3D design is used to help communicate tangible items not yet produced. For architecture firms, 3D design is used to help illustrate the final project in photo-realistic detail in order to help lease the property. For manufacturers needing to retool their workflow, 3D design can help illustrate the affects of machine alterations. 3D might not exist for the majority of companies, but for those in the business of producing a final product, 3D design is essential.
